— Don’t look at your Needs

Who is Your Provider  —

We live in a world that lacks many things in the Spirit and natural realms, and we constantly have needs of all kinds. We have needs waiting to be met at home, in the work place, church, and marriage, and you can name it as you go — needs that sometimes overwhelm us.

Our failure comes in when we allow ourselves to focus on our needs instead of our provider — God! We give into worries, fears and doubts that if not treated may take a person deep into depression with awful consequences. But we can change it. Once I was like that; now I know how to attain my desires, the wishes I longed for. If it works for me, it will also work for you.

I am a lover of the word of God. I love It’s power, integrity and faithfulness. You and I shall be led in all we do by the word of God. So let’s examine the account of the man of God who is considered the Father of Faith, Abraham.

Abraham started receiving promises from God, and it came to pass that one of these promises was to have a descendent after his own flesh, and that he would be a father of many nations. He believed God’s word, and in return, God accounted it to him for righteousness.

Later down the road of Life, God commanded Abraham to sacrifice his only son. Now consider this: Abraham and Sarah (who was barren) waited for this promise to come true for over 20 years. Abraham was 75 years old when God told him he would make him a great nation (Genesis 12:2) and he was a 100 years old when Sarah gave birth to Isaac. (Genesis 21:5) The only son of God’s promise is asked for a sacrifice, in other words to kill him as an offering to God. Can you picture how Abraham probably felt when God told him to do so

Regardless of his feelings, he decided to obey God, believing that God would see him through. The moment of the sacrifice came. He setup the altar, lay his son on the altar, and in the moment he would have slain his son, God made an intervention.

God said: “Abraham, Abraham!” And Abraham said, “here I am.” And God said: “Do nothing to him . . . .” Then Abraham raised his eyes and looked, and he saw behind him a ram caught in the thicket by his horns; and Abraham went and took the ram and offered him up for a brunt offering in place of his son. Abraham called the name of that place: JEHOVAH-JiIREH (the Lord will provide.) Genesis 22:10-14 Bible Search

Abraham took God at His word not only when God told him to sacrifice his son, but when God said that he would be a father of many nations through his son. In other words, he knew God would make a way even, if necessary, resurrect him.

But the glorious fact is that God stepped in. He showed up in the middle of the storm. He came through for his faithful servant who trusted His words regardless of the natural, painful moments that must have been. JEHOVAH-JIREH, one of God’s names in Hebrew, means “the Lord will provide.”

Do you have the same God of Abraham, God Almighty, Omnipresent, Omniscient, The God who is able to do what He says? If so, let me tell you God will not fail you! God did for Abraham. And He will do for you under one condition: Your faithfulness to His word and your total trust in his Deliverer power and Almighty Presence.

Trusting God is trust in what His word says: “And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 4:19)

I don’t know what is your need, or how bad or small it is. Perhaps it is a financial struggle or a family problem. Well you name it because only you and God know, but what I am saying to you today is that God will provide; God will make a way out of no way.

Philippians 4:19 says: “God shall supply ALL you need. . . .” He did not say would supply some of them, but all, and all means all, everything — nothing left out!

So right now I ask you to do what I do. Act upon God’s word. Look your need right in the face and speak faith, life spirit-filled words to it. Tell your problems that you reject the shortcomings, failures and worries because you decided to side with God’s word. He, God, will supply your needs — all.

Don’t be afraid. “God did give you a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” (II Timothy 1:7) As you see fear is a spirit, an evil spirit and God said he didn’t give you a spirit of fear, and if this is a spirit you get cast out in Jesus’ name. Rebuke your fear whenever it crosses your path because if you let fear come in it will cause you to doubt God’s word. Negative and defeating thoughts will come into your mind like a flood and it will shock your faith.

Right now reject in Jesus’ name any other thought of doubt and wrong confessions. Instead of confessing your needs, confess who is your Provider — confess God’s word. If you believe in Jesus, you also believe in the word because Jesus was the Living word of God in the flesh and now the word shall abide in us through our faith and His spirit.

Instead of saying: “I don’t have money,” say, “my God, in whom I trust, will provide for my financial need; don’t say: “my marriage is a mess or a problem,” say something like: “I believe in God for the restoration of my marriage because me and my house will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15)

When you make confessions in line with God’s word, things change. It must change because God watches over His word to bring it to pass. One day I was praying and I always pray in line with God’s word, which will make my prayer an accord to God’s will. Then in the end after Thank God in Jesus’ name, I opened my bible with my eyes closed and it opened in Jeremiah. My eyes opened straight forward to Jeremiah 1:12 that says: “Then the Lord said to me, ‘you have seen well for I am ready to perform my word.’ ”

In that moment I was so happy to perceive in my spirit that God was clearly telling once again that He always fulfills His word. Amen.

Knowing who is your Provider —The Almighty God — changes everything in your life and I mean for real. If it does not change, you better check and review where you are missing it.

Standing on God’s promises, you are setting yourself in a position to receive your breakthrough. God’s promise is not past tense or only reserved for the Israelite descendants. It is for all who obey and hear His voice, His word.

“Now it shall come to pass if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully his commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above the nations of the earth.” (Deuteronomy 28:1)

Deuteronomy 28 declares the blessings and curses of God. All of it will depend on how you serve God. Now obeying the Lord is not that hard. It does require a change of lifestyle in order that it can be aligned to God’s will, and it is worthy because it will guarantee you a life of abundance in all areas through Christ.

There are two particular promises that I like most which may cover many of your needs. Meditate on this scripture. Fit yourself into and confess it toward your situation. Whatever it may be, it will bow down to God’s word.

“The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.” (Deuteronomy 28:7)

“The Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath. . . .” (Deuteronomy 28:13)

Dear friends you are an heir with Christ of all promises and benefits from God. You are the seed of Abraham by faith and this makes you a descendant of Abraham. I can’t detail all of your rights as a new-born in Christ. I want you to know that God made you head not tail. You shall be above all circumstances walking in victory because in Christ you are more than a conqueror. (Romans 8:37)

Heads up! The victory is yours in Jesus’ name. Amen
